Live Wildfire Hotspot Map

Satellite-detected wildfire hotspots across the globe, refreshed every few minutes and plotted on an interactive map.

About this live wildfires map

This map plots satellite-detected thermal anomalies — actively burning fires — from NASA's FIRMS detection pipeline. Each marker is one hotspot detection with a timestamp and labeling from the feed.

Hotspots are detections, not fire perimeters: a single large fire can produce many adjacent detections, and industrial heat sources can appear too. The view is downsampled from the full detection stream to keep the map responsive.

Data is fetched in your browser through our own cached endpoint and rendered locally — no account, no install, nothing you do here is uploaded anywhere. Live feeds are approximate and must not be used for navigation or safety-of-life decisions.
