About this live ships map
Ships equipped with Automatic Identification System (AIS) transponders appear here with their reported position, name, and course where available. The feed aggregates thousands of vessels from coastal receivers and satellites.
Coverage concentrates along major shipping lanes, straits, and coastal waters. Mid-ocean positions depend on satellite AIS passes, so far-from-shore traffic appears in bursts between passes.
Data is fetched in your browser through our own cached endpoint and rendered locally — no account, no install, nothing you do here is uploaded anywhere. Live feeds are approximate and must not be used for navigation or safety-of-life decisions.
