Live Biodiversity Observations Map

Recent citizen-science species observations from iNaturalist, plotted where they were recorded and refreshed every ten minutes.

About this live biodiversity map

Each marker is a recent species observation reported by the iNaturalist community — plants, animals, fungi, and everything else volunteers document worldwide. Click a marker for the organism's name and observation details.

Observation density mirrors community activity rather than true biodiversity: expect clusters around cities, parks, and reserves where naturalists are active.
