How to use this tool

Limits and checks before sharing

  • Grouping preserves distinct strings, numbers, booleans, null and missing values. Filenames are disambiguated to avoid overwrites.
  • Grouping does not split individual geometries or dissolve features.

If processing fails, check the file extension and source contents. Use a smaller batch if memory runs low. The original files are never overwritten. Inspect known locations and attributes before sharing a result.

Frequently asked questions

Are the number 1 and the string “1” grouped together?

No. Typed values form different groups so the split does not erase data distinctions.

Are these calculations local?

Yes. Files and calculations stay in your browser. Page resources require an initial network load. Map previews can request external map tiles. No account is needed.
