How does the current location map work?

The map uses your browser's built-in geolocation API to determine your coordinates. No app installation is required — it works on desktop and mobile browsers alike.

Is my location data stored or shared?

No. Your raw location is only used in your browser to display the map and query weather data. GeoDataViewer does not store, log, or share your coordinates with any third party.

What information does this tool show?

It displays your latitude, longitude, local time, time zone name, elevation above sea level, temperature, and wind speed — all in one clean panel next to the map.

Where does the weather data come from?

Weather, elevation, and time zone data are fetched from Open-Meteo, a free, privacy-friendly API that does not require registration or store your queries.

Does this work on mobile phones?

Yes. The map is fully responsive and works on iOS Safari, Android Chrome, and other modern mobile browsers. You will be prompted to allow location access.
